In a move to attract new business and investment in downtown Muskegon, the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Muskegon Now have organized a Downtown Investment and Development Tour for real estate professionals, developers and retailers on Thursday, Oct. 25.

The walking tour through the city’s downtown district starts at 10 a.m. and wraps at 1 p.m., with the program including a presentation and lunch. New opportunities for investment will be a focus of the walking tour.

“We have compiled updated market information, property specs and new incentive programs to be ready in time for this important event,” said Andrew Haan, director of Downtown Muskegon Now.

More than $200 million in investments have been pumped into downtown Muskegon since 2002, and there are several new projects on the drawing board. Individuals taking the development tour can ask questions, look at specific properties and possibly make contacts to help further the possibility of investing, expanding or relocating in the downtown region.

To register for the tour, go to www.muskegon.org, or for more information, contact Haan at (231) 724-3180.

Downtown Muskegon Now is a nonprofit promotional entity under the administration of Muskegon Area First, a nonprofit development agency.

The Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber represents about 1,150 businesses and organizations throughout West Michigan and has been in operation for 120 years.
