A distributor of industrial batteries is now part of a power systems company on the state’s east side.
Redford-based Alpine Power Systems acquired Battcom out of Grandville, according to Alpine this month.
The combined Alpine and Battcom teams in the market will operate from Alpine’s facility in Wyoming, at 5304 Clay Ave. SW.
Larry Grimm, Battcom's former owner and president, has become Alpine's senior sales manager responsible for the West Michigan territory.
Grimm has worked for over 20 years in the industrial battery business.
“We believe our partnership will provide the western Michigan market with dynamic services, offerings and customer support," Grimm said.
Battcom, founded in 2015, marks Alpine’s 17th acquisition under its current ownership.
“Larry Grimm is a tremendous addition to the team who brings professionalism and customer passion every day,” said Adam Cecil, director of motive power sales, Alpine Power Systems.
Alpine Power Systems, established in 1963, specializes in backup power, telecom, cable and motive power solutions.
