A local public relations firm has named a new director.

Grand Rapids-based Lambert, Edwards & Associates, or LE&A, said this week it appointed Chea Jackson to the role at the multi-office firm.

Jackson has worked at LE&A since 2011.

“As director, I will have more responsibility leading larger teams and managing client accounts, and I’ll also have a more expanded role in helping to shape the strategic direction of the firm,” Jackson said.

She called the promotion an "exciting" move.

"Public relations is constantly evolving, and there are always new ways to connect with your audience and new technologies," Jackson said.

Jackson’s background

Jackson supports accounts within the health care, science, technology, nonprofit and manufacturing sectors. She will continue to work in those sectors as director.

Recently, she's developed and executed communications plans for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Spectrum Health, Ranir and MPI Research.

“I’ve been very involved with Ranir’s transition to working with branded dental companies, including Rembrandt,” she said.

Jackson has experience in local and trade media relations, campaign development, internal communications, event planning and social media management.

Previously, she worked at the Michigan Townships Association for two years, where she led vendor and advertiser relations, trade show coordination and magazine content development and design.

Jackson has been involved with several local organizations, including the Association for Corporate Growth of Western Michigan, Michigan State University Club of West Michigan and Gazelle Girl Half Marathon.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising with a specialization in public relations from Michigan State University.
