A local public relations firm has named a new shareholder.

Grand Rapids-based SeyferthPR said this week it appointed Brad Back, the firm’s VP of reputation management and branding, to the ownership team — and added principal to his title.

The firm has five other shareholders: Ginny Seyferth, APR; Dan Spaulding, APR; Karen Kirchenbauer, APR; Tyler Lecceadone; and Cynthia Domingo.

“I’m thrilled with Ginny’s announcement and proud to contribute to SeyferthPR’s continued growth,” Back said.

Back provides senior client counsel surrounding reputation, brand and social media platform management, which includes overseeing management of about 500 Facebook pages and other social media profiles for multiple statewide clients.

“Brad brought an extensive background in integrated communication, especially in the area of consumer brands, to our firm,” said Seyferth, the firm's founder and president.

Back joined SeyferthPR almost two years ago after moving from Chicago.

He has more than 30 years of public relations experience working with companies such as Procter & Gamble, United Airlines and Capital One.

He has worked for organizations such as Detroit’s Cliff Freeman & Partners and the Chicago offices of several firms: Leo Burnett; Foote, Cone & Belding; and Hal Riney & Partners.

Back also owned three Little Caesars franchises in Chicago, which he sold before moving back to his home state of Michigan.

He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America West Michigan Chapter.

He earned a B.A. in advertising and public relations from Grand Valley State University in 1979.
