A plastic surgery practice is partnering with a skincare brand to open a clinical spa downtown.
Doctors Douglas Vander Woude, John Renucci, Marguerite Aitken and David Alfonso of Grand Rapids-based Plastic Surgery Associates have partnered with Dallas-based SkinCeuticals to open Grand Pearl Advanced Clinical Spa.
Grand Pearl Advanced Clinical Spa will be located at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids, which is also the home of Plastic Surgery Associates. It is the first SkinCeuticals Advanced Clinical Spa in the Midwest.
The spa will offer a range of services: skin analysis, skincare treatments, injectables, laser skin rejuvenation, laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal and body contouring. Skincare and makeup products will also be available.
The SkinCeuticals lineup includes antioxidants, sunscreens, corrective serums, anti-aging creams and more.
The practice previously added non-surgical cosmetic services in response to patient demand.
Plastic Surgery Associates said clients can now experience those services at Grand Pearl Advanced Clinical Spa.
The spa will offer “state-of-the-art” skincare treatments in an “exclusive environment” with a “personalized approach.”
SkinCeuticals said its products have been shown to “dramatically improve” skin health by protecting skin from environmental damage and visibly improving skin clarity, tone and texture to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The company said it develops its products with “in-office procedures in mind,” formulating them to help “maximize immediate and long-term patient results.”
Vander Woude said the new spa combines “best-in-class procedures” with products that have “clinical testing to show mutual benefit when used in combination.”
Dermatologist Sheldon Pinnell founded SkinCeuticals in 1997. He was also a member of the Duke University Medical School faculty for almost 40 years. He spent his career studying skin science, according to his SkinCeuticals bio.
