Professional cyclist Brad White is the new owner of Velo City Cycles in Holland.
White, who is entering his seventh season riding for the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team and is a graduate of Calvin College, recently took over the reins of the 14-year-old bike shop at 77 E. Eighth St.
“Velo City Cycles has a very unique and impressive riding community. I am excited to be a part of this community, help it grow and expand to include new riders,” White said.
Although White has promised to make some changes to the shop, Velo City Cycles has sold Cannondale, Seven Cycles and Carnelo bikes and frames, among other brands, in the past.
The shop has also offered riding and racing equipment, clothing, and repair and tune-up services.
White indicated that his overall mission is to provide the store’s customers with the highest level of service and to offer them products that they trust and use themselves.
White, his wife Jenny, and their two young children live in Holland. Jenny also graduated from Calvin College.
Velo City Cycles is open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Saturday. The shop is closed on Sunday.
