One of the area’s leading architectural and engineering firms has a new chief financial officer.
Grand Rapids-based Progressive AE has hired Steve Whitteberry as its new CFO.
He comes to the firm with 25 years of related experience.
Whitteberry most recently served as CFO at Butterball Farms.
He’s held other top executive positions at NuVescor, SoundOff Signal and Gordon Food Service.
Whitteberry has directed the development of customer and product profitability tools, overseen dozens of land acquisitions and retail store constructions and managed the purchases and integrations of several companies, according to Progressive AE.
“Steve’s experience in financial and strategic planning, acquisitions, forecasting and operational accounting will inform our growth efforts,” said Brad Thomas, Progressive AE president and CEO .
“His strengths will provide value not only to our internal team, but also to our clients, as we continue to advance our unique approach to design that drives organizational performance and delivers measurable business results,” added Thomas.
Whitteberry replaces a respected longtime fixture at Progressive AE in Ray Fix.
Fix was the firm’s president from 1992 to 2004, the year he became Progressive’s CFO.
“Progressive AE has had the benefit of Ray’s insight, intellect and compassion for 40 years,” Thomas said. “He played a significant role in the firm’s success to this day, including leading the charge to become an employee-owned company, providing investment opportunities through the very buildings our team designed and keeping an eye on the long-term stability of our financial status.”
