Candy Wilkes-Scheper is the founder and owner of afterthemove.

Wilkes-Scheper started her company because she found the relocation process was missing a key service, one that focuses on the family and their needs during the move. Providing services to address the physical and emotional transition is key to a successful move for new employees and their families.

She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in international relations, worked in the travel industry for 12 years and was a proud stay-at-home mom for many years.

Biggest career break?

I was fortunate to be the president of the Americans in Alsace organization while living in Strasbourg, France. This not only provided me with connections to the international community and our consulate, but also highlighted the lack of services available to recently relocated families. This became my inspiration for starting afterthemove.

My parents. I think they are and always have been really great role models for my brothers and myself. Actually, for the whole family: grandkids, great-grandkids, etc.
