Downtown Market's indoor Market Hall is filling out its lineup of vendors just in time for its Labor Day opening.

Thai fusion

The market announced this week that brothers Yang Hang and Blon Hang willl open Rak Thai Bistro in the market’s indoor Market Hall, offering Thai-fusion entrees.

Thai fusion involves the blending of traditional Thai recipes and sauces with elements of Chinese and Japanese cuisine.

This will be the brother’s third location in Grand Rapids.

Rak Thai can also be found at 5260 Northland Dr. NE and 6719 Division Ave. S. The pair’s Division Avenue location opened in May.

Market Hall

Market Hall will be the region’s first urban marketplace, with 19 full-time vendors, ranging from ice cream and spices to an old-world butcher and a wine bar.

The Market is still working to fill in its restaurant and brewery spaces, as well as five remaining vendor stalls.
