This is literally a happy hour for all fans of Reserve Wine & Food.

The fine dining wine bar in dowtown Grand Rapids, at 201 Monroe Ave. NW, will now — for the first time — be open for both lunch, said Renee Koops, director of operations at Reserve.

Reserve’s new hours and lunch menu are necessary as the wine bar adapts to a downtown being revitalized, Koops said.

Grand Rapids has a growing population of downtown residents, and it made sense to offer them a place to enjoy lunch, as well as grab a drink after work, she said.

Koops said Reserve hired about nine more employees in the kitchen and hostess areas to help accommodate the new lunch schedule, which started April 1.

The new lunch menu is posted at Reserve's website.

“I just got brought in to Reserve about six months ago, and we were looking to expand,” Koops said. “We are a wine bar with a firm focus, but we also go to the farmers market every day, and I think that gets missed a lot. My focus is on making people aware that we have an amazing dinner menu.”

Reserve will now be open for lunch from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday, featuring a menu created by Reserve’s new executive chef, Matt Green, who had previously worked under Reserve Executive Chef Matt Millar, Koops said.

Happy Hour will run from 4-6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and dinner will begin at 5 p.m.

The restaurant will close at 11 p.m., Monday through Friday, and midnight on Saturday. It is closed and Sunday and opens at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
