Employees of a restaurant company can now receive higher education scholarships through a new partnership.

Davenport University has partnered with Livonia-based TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants, or TSFR, to offer $250,000 in scholarships annually to the company’s employees.

Scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 will be available for up to 50 employees, who may each renew for up to four years. Scholarships will be available only to new Davenport students at any of its campuses or taking its online courses.

The program is part of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce’s new Corporate Education Scholarship, an initiative that creates opportunities for in-state member companies to provide educational benefits to their employees.

“With Michigan’s growing economy, our state is facing an insatiable demand for strong talent within our expanding workforce,” said Richard Pappas, president, Davenport University. “With this program, we’ll be able to empower employers to tackle this issue head-on by leveraging one of their most invaluable resources — their employees.”

A division of Schostak Family Enterprises, which has been operating in Michigan for nearly 100 years, TSFR is a family-owned restaurant group with a portfolio of more than 100 restaurants throughout the state, including restaurants such as Applebee’s, Olga’s Kitchen, MOD Pizza and Del Taco restaurants.
