Brann’s Steakhouse & Grille, at 401 Leonard St. NW in Grand Rapids, is assisting employees through the COVID-19 crisis via an employee fundraiser.
“Brann’s Leonard will survive and look to be stronger than ever when normal business resumes,” the company said in a statement. “In the meantime, we want to assist our staff in making their lives better with income that will relieve stress and anxiety, and give them some security until their lives return to normal.”
After Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s order to close dine-in service for all bars and restaurants, Brann’s Steakhouse remained open for takeout services. Regardless, the loss of business equals a loss of income for staff.
As of Wednesday morning, the restaurant raised $3,190 of a $10,000 goal. All proceeds will go directly to staff members.
Brann’s will give gift certificates for a free, 8-ounce “Sizzling Steak Dinner” to everyone who donates $50 or more.
