A new cannabis retailer is bringing a hometown feel to Cedar Springs.

Cedar Springs Cannabis, at 10 S. Main St., celebrated its grand opening Thursday, April 28.

“We’re excited to be opening Cedar Springs Cannabis and ready to celebrate,” said Ryan Lafferty, co-founder and COO of Kush Design Studio.

Kush is a full-service cannabis consulting firm working with Cedar Springs Cannabis.

The store will offer selections from Grand Rapids cannabis brands, as well as flowers, pre-rolls, edibles and other products.

As the third cannabis store on Main Street, Cedar Springs Cannabis wanted to stand out, Lafferty said.

“We wanted to do something a little different, and a hometown dispensary is the vibe we’re going for,” he said. “We’re bringing a local feel and a local flair with high-quality products.”

Cedar Springs Cannabis is owned by Tom Mabie, a longtime Cedar Springs resident and retired business owner. Mabie’s goal with opening the store is to help the community, and Lafferty said the store plans to be involved in fundraisers and community activities, such as the annual Red Flannel Festival.

“Tom has lived in Cedar Springs his entire life, and we’re going to do as much as we can to be connected with the community,” Lafferty said. “Our hope is that we’re considered as the local hometown shop.”

Hours of operation are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 12-6 p.m. Sunday.
