Two more locations of a restaurant chain known for serving “spicy New Orleans-style chicken” are coming to the area.
Franchisee Anthony Basile will open a pair of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen locations at 5448 S. Division Ave. SE in Kentwood and 2446 28th St. SE in Grand Rapids this summer, according to Colliers of West Michigan.
“We look forward to opening these two restaurants as we continue to develop the Popeyes brand in West Michigan,” Basile said. “We’re proud to offer delicious food and great service to our customers in a family-friendly environment.”
Basile also operates Popeyes locations at 1831 W. Washington St. in Greenville and at 1891 E. Apple Ave. in Muskegon.
Chris Prins, of Colliers, represented Popeyes in the real estate transaction.
“We are excited to help continue to grow the Popeyes brand,” Prins said. “Colliers worked closely with Anthony to find the right locations for these two restaurants, and these were selected because of their high traffic and visibility. Due to its success in the region, Popeyes looks forward to continuing to expand in West Michigan.”
Basile said he is monitoring the evolving state and federal regulations due to COVID-19 and will adjust operations for the two new locations accordingly to meet safety guidelines.
“We plan to open these two locations while enforcing several precautionary safety measures for the protection of our customers and employees,” he said.
Popeyes was founded in 1972 in the New Orleans suburb of Arabi and serves chicken sandwiches, tenders and wings, breaded seafood, Cajun fries, buttermilk biscuits and more.
