Two organizations are hosting an event designed to bring former residents back into the region’s talent pool.
Hello West Michigan and The Right Place will host the seventh-annual ReThink West Michigan party from 5:30-8 p.m. on Nov. 21 at six West Michigan locations.
ReThink West Michigan is a casual networking event with free drinks, appetizers and prizes.
Recruiters from 44 West Michigan organizations with job openings will be at the various locations, along with community ambassadors and local school district representatives who can answer questions about West Michigan offerings.

New this year, the ReThink Michigan program is being co-promoted under Back to Michigan, whose goal aligns with the $2.5-million Choose Michigan campaign under the state's Marshall Plan. The campaign is aimed at attracting recent graduates and young professionals from other parts of the Midwest to Michigan.
Back to Michigan curates Thanksgiving eve and post-Thanksgiving recruiting events in the Ann Arbor, Great Lakes Bay, Houghton, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Traverse City and West Michigan areas, including the ReThink West Michigan event founded in 2012.

Established in 2007, Hello West Michigan is a nonprofit that promotes the region as a place “where business thrives and people want to live and work.”
It seeks to increase member employers’ success in their efforts to recruit top talent, as well as collaborate with organizations to help new residents and those interested in relocating to “find their fit in West Michigan.”

The Right Place, founded in 1985, is a regional economic development nonprofit supported through investments from the private and public sectors.
