A recreational vehicle dealership is undergoing a $2.5-million expansion.

The more than 21,000-square-foot expansion at American RV in Cutlerville, at 201 76th St. SW, is expected to create up to 15 jobs.

Construction started last month and will finish in February 2018.

The expansion is spearheaded by Byron Center-based Dykhouse Construction.

The cost of the project was not disclosed.

The project will add a total of 14,000 square feet for showroom space, office space and waiting rooms, as well as 8,413 square feet for six service bays.

American RV sells a variety of RVs, fifth-wheels and travel trailers.

The new showroom will feature kiosks that allow customers to view inventory and compare various models.

“This expansion is about providing the best possible service for our customers,” said Chad Neff, general manager, American RV. “As our industry has evolved and changed over the past few years, so have we. We want to keep up with the demands of our growing business.”
