A sales and marketing company specializing in outsourced services is consolidating its local operations into a new headquarters and planning to create 100 jobs.
Advantage Sales & Marketing is combing its four Grand Rapids locations into one at the former Klingman’s Furniture & Design building in Wyoming, at 1001 28th St. SW, according to The Right Place today.
The business-to-consumer company provides a range of services for clients, such as in-store programs and digital solutions.
The project is expected to generate a total investment of $4.3 million.
The company was evaluating whether to remain in Grand Rapids or centralize in Wisconsin, where the company also has an office.
The Right Place, a Grand Rapids-based economic development agency, worked with the company to find a suitable location in the area that would bring all of its employees under one roof.
“We consider this a double win for the region,” said Eric Icard, senior business development manager, The Right Place. “Not only were we able to retain hundreds of jobs in West Michigan, we will also gain over 100 new jobs as a result.”
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, or MEDC, has awarded the company a $550,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant for the project.
“Exciting things are happening in the 28th Street corridor, and the re-use of the former Klingman’s building is integral to our success,” Wyoming Mayor Jack Poll said.
Advantage Sales & Marketing provides outsourced sales, marketing, merchandising and category management services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods.
The company serves a variety of retail channels, such as grocery, specialty and convenience.
