A senior living community in the region has broken ground on a $2-million expansion and renovation project.

Vista Springs Holland Meadows began construction this month on an assisted living building at its campus in Holland, at 445 104th Ave.

The expanded portion of the building will be a single story, wood-framed structure that creates an interior courtyard with the existing building, a portion of which will also be renovated.

Together, the new construction and renovation will total more than 35,600 square feet.

Construction will be performed with minimal disruption to current residents.

“Our team is committed to providing ‘Full of Life’ experiences that help people achieve happier and healthier lives in a state-of-the-art community, whether they need assisted living or memory care service,” said Lou Andriotti, CEO, Vista Springs.

Construction is being managed by Grand Rapids-based Orion Construction. It’s the fourth project between Vista Springs and Orion Construction.

Richard Postema of RSP Architecture provided design work, and Chemical Bank provided financing.
