A storage brand in the region is rolling out a new shelving line.

Gladiator GarageWorks, a brand of Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool Corporation, said this month it released its EZ Connect Racks, a line of shelving racks designed to be easily assembled and installed anywhere storage shelves are needed.

The shelving units, which come in three models, feature a click-and-lock system that requires no tools to assemble.

"When you think, 'How could you improve on a rack shelf?', it isn't easy,” Gladiator Brand Manager Allison Gillespie said. “We wanted to improve the assembly process, yet still offer the robust products the Gladiator brand is known for.”

Each model is 72-inches tall. The three options include a 36-inch wide by 18-inch deep rack retailing for $79.99, a 48-inch wide by 18-inch deep rack for $89.99 and a 48-inch wide by 24-inch deep rack for $99.99.

Benton Harbor-based Gladiator said the laminate shelves can hold up to 1,000 pounds of storage and are NSF certified for food storage. The shelves and steel frame are designed to be easy to disassemble as well.

The racks are styled using Gladiator’s hammered granite finish.

All three racks are available for purchase online and at select retailers, such as Lowe’s, The Home Depot and Sears.
