An insurance firm is moving from a suburb to a new high-rise downtown.

Van Wyk Risk Solutions has entered into a contract to occupy 17,000 square feet of class-A office space at the Warner Building being constructed at 150 Ottawa Ave. NW in Grand Rapids. The new addition means the office portion of the building is now 100-percent leased.

Van Wyk Risk Solutions will move its headquarters from 2237 Wealthy St. SE in East Grand Rapids to the 10th floor of the Warner Building, following the completion of its current lease. The firm plans to move into the Warner Building in July.

“Our 37-year promise will continue at the Warner Building, which is centrally located for employees and easily accessible for clients,” said Max Van Wyk, CEO, Van Wyk Risk Solutions. “All of us at Van Wyk Risk Solutions are pleased to be relocating to such a beautiful building in the heart of Grand Rapids.”

Construction on the $55-million Warner Building is expected to wrap up this spring.
