Downtown Market announced Thursday that Sweetie-licious Pie Pantry will be part of the indoor Market Hall when it opens later this summer.

Sweetie-licious Pie Pantry will sell pies, cupcakes, cakes, cookies, muffins, bars and other baked goods.

The bakery already has a retail location that operates in DeWitt.

Linda Hundt established the business in 2002, operating it originally from her home before moving to the current space.

Retro baked goods

Nostalgia is baked into the company’s mission, and its retail space offers a vintage ambiance and the bakery specializes in retro baked goods.

“Our fare is created by infusing the best vintage recipes along with the latest taste sensations. All of our foods are homemade, made with only fresh and quality ingredients — no preservatives are ever added,” according to the Sweetie-licious website.

Award-winning pies

Sweetie-licious has earned several awards, including National Pie Championship awards, the most recent being for Best of Show in the Crisco 100th Anniversary Innovation Category at the National Pie Championships in 2011.

The bakery has also been featured on the Today Show and the Food Network.

Downtown Market's announcement had already earned dozens of likes on Facebook soon after it was posted, with two commenters remarking how nice it would be to have the bakery's products available in Grand Rapids.

Sweetie-licious Pie Pantry joins a growing list of vendors that have signed leases for one of 24 spaces at Market Hall.
