A local technology company has hired its new vice president of marketing from the nonprofit sector.
Grand Rapids-based SalesPad, a software maker, said this month it named Jennifer Jurgens to the role.
Most recently, Jurgens was executive director of Komen Michigan.
Jurgens’ experience in operations, supply chain management, channel marketing and leadership all played into her hiring, SalesPad President Matt Williams said.
“As we continue to expand our marketing efforts, Jennifer will play a key role in strengthening our brand, building awareness of our new products in the local business community and taking our marketing efforts to the next level,” Williams said.
Jurgens described the position as an “incredible opportunity to help increase the visibility of SalesPad’s brand nationally and build a creative team from the ground up to support our marketing efforts.”
At Komen Michigan, Jurgens merged multiple Komen affiliates into one organization and “launched new marketing initiatives and streamlined business processes.” She will continue to volunteer and remain active within the organization.
Previously, Jurgens held a number of positions in the business-to-business technology industry.
She said she’s spent most of her career “working in technology and helping clients improve their sales and marketing processes.”
Jurgens has also helped launch TedXGrandRapids and AimWest.
She holds a B.A. in supply chain management from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from Grand Valley State University.
SalesPad produces software to ease and enhance sales, customer service, purchasing, distribution and inventory and warehouse management.
The company has more than 100 employees.
