A technology “unconference” is coming to town this weekend.
BarCamp Grand Rapids, a gathering where all attendees are encouraged to participate in some way, will take place this Friday and Saturday at Calvin College’s DeVos Communication Center in Grand Rapids, at 1810 E. Beltline Ave. SE.
The event will focus on technology and design, and anyone with an interest in those topics, including first-timers, is encouraged to attend.
Attendees must give a demo, conduct a session, help with a session or support the event.
Presentations are 25 minutes long, with five minutes in between.
All presentations are scheduled the day they happen. Presenters are encouraged to prepare in advance and come early to get a slot on the wall. Presenters are asked to ensure notes, slides, audio or video of their presentations are published on the web for those who can’t be present.
Attendees may stay overnight on Friday and are encouraged to bring a sleeping bag.
The weekend’s schedule is online.
Registration is free and can be done online.
BarCamp started in Palo Alto, California in 2005 and has spread to across six continents, with dozens of BarCamp events held each year.
