An apartment complex in the area inspired by a German castle has begun taking leases.
The Grand Castle in Grandville, at 2655 Grand Castle Blvd., announced its "opening day" last week on its Facebook page and has opened leases for one- and two-bedroom units on the first and second floors of the building.
Pre-leasing on units started earlier this year. The project broke ground in July 2016.
Construction is still ongoing for the brainchild of developer and owner Roger Lucas, who based the design on Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany.
Upon completion, the “castle” will feature 522 units, with 37 floor plans, including studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, as well as penthouse suites.
Still to come are several on-site amenities, including a coffee shop, deli, outdoor trails, pool, library, gym, clubhouse and a 28-acre pond reserved for fishing and water sports.
An earlier Business Journal report noted a two-story, 750-space parking garage wrapping the entirety of the building. While parking is currently available for tenants, construction on the garage is unfinished, and parking will be an up-charge of $5 to $20 on top of tenants’ monthly rents.
The firm also serves as developer, designer and contractor for the project, according to previous Business Journal reports.
