Tourism exec named to national class of ’15 Over 50′

A local tourism professional is one of the industry’s “15 Over 50” in the U.S.

Mary Manier, director of sales at Experience Grand Rapids, is part of the inaugural “15 Over 50” class for Connect Association, a meetings and events industry magazine.

The 15 honored are “event professionals who have spent their career moving the meetings industry forward.”

“It’s an incredible honor to be named one of the ’15 Over 50’ by Connect,” Manier said. “This recognition is especially exciting, because Connect is a thought leader and trusted resource in the meetings industry.”

Manier’s focus at Experience Grand Rapids is to bring conventions and meetings to Kent County and Grand Rapids.

She has 30 years of experience in the indutry. 

Manier has been involved with Convention Sales Professionals International for three years and attended several professional development sessions. She has also developed a network of destination marketing organization sales directors to discuss ideas and changes in the industry.

She graduated from Davenport University with a degree in hospitality.
