A university is hosting a workshop this week on doing business with Mexico and Canada.
The Van Andel Global Trade Center at Grand Valley State University will host the workshop about trade with the countries from 8 a.m. to noon on Sept. 25 at the L. William Seidman Center downtown, at 50 Front Ave. SW.
Mexico and Canada are Michigan's largest trade partners, recording $37.4 billion of trade in 2017, according to the center.
The workshop includes information on the current business climate in Mexico and Canada, free trade agreements and best practices for making successful business deals.
"There are enormous export opportunities for Michigan companies to grow and develop in these markets," said Sonja Johnson, executive director, Van Andel Global Trade Center.
"With an ever-evolving trade landscape, it is important to keep up to date on the best practices for doing business in Mexico and Canada."
Registration is online.
