Trader Joe’s has named the opening day for its second location in West Michigan.
Trader Joe’s Kalamazoo will host a grand-opening event on Oct. 12, at 5099 Century Ave., according to a post today by WWMT News Channel 3 in Kalamazoo.
The event will feature live music, food tastings, giveaways and a ceremonial lei cutting, WWMT reports.
The grand opening begins at 7:55 a.m., and the store will open at 8 a.m.
The California-based grocery chain opened its first West Michigan location in 2015 in Kentwood.
Trader Joe’s has six other stores in Michigan: Ann Arbor, Bloomfield Hills, Grosse Pointe, Northville, Rochester Hills and Royal Oak.
Trader Joe’s was founded in 1958 and operates about 465 stores in 41 states.
