Experience Grand Rapids, the convention and visitors bureau for Kent County, has revamped its website, experiencegr.com, to include new features, some of which make it more accessible for individuals with disabilities.
“We know our website plays an important role in inspiring tourism and helping millions of visitors plan trips to West Michigan,” said Janet Korn, senior vice president of Experience Grand Rapids. “We want to make it even easier for all visitors and locals to plug into events, attractions, dining and recreation around Grand Rapids.”
Experiencegr.com new features include color contrast and variations, alt text for images and continuing use of AudioEye software.
The site also has an enhanced events calendar that helps visitors easily see and learn about different festivals and celebrations that are happening during weekdays, weekends and on a monthly basis, or topics that are being discussed in the county.
The bureau also redesigned the website’s blog page. The blog, The Insider Experience, now has trending articles section and stories from Experience Grand Rapids team of storytellers and enthusiasts.
Visitors also can sign up for Travel Link, a monthly email newsletter that features top events, festivals and travel suggestions.
Experiencegr.com will continue to offer digital campaigns to help visitors and locals know about the local dining, beverage and cultural scene in the county, including Beer City Brewsader Passport App, the Culture Pass and the Craft Pass (currently running through Oct. 31).
In 2019, the Experience Grand Rapids website had 4.9 million page views, 2.5 million sessions, 1.8 million visitors, 4,100 Visitors Guide downloads and 278,000 referrals to partner sites.
