A university in the region is one of the top schools internationally for video game design.

Ferris State University’s Digital Animation and Game Design program ranks 17th in The Princeton Review’s top-50 ranking of undergraduate programs for video game design.

The Princeton Review chose the colleges for its 2019 “Top Schools for Game Design” ranking based on a survey it conducted in 2018 of administrators at 150 institutions offering game design coursework or degrees in the U.S., Canada and some countries abroad.

The selection and ranking of schools are based on criteria that broadly covered the quality of faculty, facilities and technology. The Princeton Review also factored in data from schools about curriculum and career services.

The survey had more than 40 questions and covered a wide range of topics, including academics, faculty credentials and graduates' employment and career achievements.
