A local university is considered one of the nation’s top 50 “greenest” colleges.

Grand Valley State University ranks 37th in The Princeton Review’s annual “Guide to Green Colleges.”

GVSU has made the list each year since it began in 2010.

The guide profiles colleges in the U.S. that make the “most exceptional” commitments to sustainability, including academic offerings and career preparation in an increasingly green economy, as well as campus practices, initiatives and activities.

The results are based on a combination of school-reported data and student opinions reported in surveys.
