A rentable urban venue is throwing a launch party to make new friends in its Grand Rapids neighborhood.

Acorn Studios is hosting the party on Thursday, from 5-9 p.m., at 919 Fulton St. E.

Cocktails and appetizers will be served.

The space

Acorn Studios said last week that the space was designed with “photo and video production in mind” and can accommodate many “production and styling needs," as well as host meetings, classes, parties and dinners.

Acorn Studios also offers various cooking classes and plans to offer more classes on food photography, flower arranging and painting.

Laura Goble, owner of Acorn Studios, bought the property in 2011.

Goble said she transformed the former retail space’s 1,500-square-foot first floor into a boutique studio, including a kitchen, and the upstairs space, which is about the same size, into her living area.

The property also contains an 1,800-square-foot patio.

Firms

Concept Design Group in Grand Rapids designed the project.

Wolverine Building Group in Grand Rapids served as the project’s contractor.

“It took a good year to renovate before I could even move in,” Goble said.

Rate

Rental rates for the space, with a capacity up to 49, start at $200.
