The Van Andel Education Institute is hosting a two-day STEAM conference for K-12 educators.

The annual Science on the Grand conference is July 15-16 on the institute’s campus, at 333 Bostwick Ave. NE in Grand Rapids.

This year’s conference will focus on project-based learning, critical thinking, student engagement, classroom management, collaboration, social and emotional learning, Next Generation Science Standards and STEAM integration.

Keynote presenters include Dave Burgess, New York Times best-selling author of “Teach like a PIRATE,” and Andrew Pospisilik, director and professor at VAI’s Center for Epigenetics.

Registration is $225. With the paid registration of a staff member, a principal from the same building may attend for free.

Registration includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
