A supplier of automation systems and management software for warehouses has expanded into the Grand Rapids market, thanks to a “wealth of material handling talent” in the area.

Conshohocken, Penn.-based Invata Intralogistics said yesterday that it has opened an office in Grand Rapids, at 3205 Eaglecrest Drive NE.

Formal presence

Invata said the expansion has been in the works for a while now. The company has already had a growing presence in the area and said it wanted to get all of its employees under one roof for greater efficiency.

Increased client demand and expanding employment by Invata in the Grand Rapids area also motivated the expansion.

Regional plan

Invata said the move gives it strategic access to the material handling experience in West Michigan.

The office will allow for additional team members, and the company made clear that it expects to hire in the near future. The company, for instance, is looking for a systems engineer at its Grand Rapids office, according to its website.

Invata plans to specifically focus on growing its capabilities and experience in material handling systems and automated storage and retrieval systems.

“This location not only provides us with a home for our present team members, but allows us to expand as Invata continues to grow,” said Charlie Zebell, vice president of systems integration, Invata. “We are committed to the Grand Rapids marketplace and appreciate being part of the community.”

Invata Intralogistics, founded in 2010, said it specializes in integrating the flow of information with the flow of material goods through a mix of material handling and information processing technologies, which improve operational productivity for distribution centers, fulfillment centers and warehouses.
