Pay rates in the region increased overall by 2.8 percent from 2011, according to the 2012 Wage and Salary Survey released annually by The Employers Association.
The survey represents data from 180 organizations from the West Michigan area for 347 jobs within 16 major job sectors.
Maggie McPhee, director of information services at TEA, said that compensation increased between 2.2 percent and 2.8 percent in the local market, which is reflective of the annual local salary budget report data as well.
The report features several examples of job-specific increases in the region.
- Systems manager: $75,856.85 in 2012, up from $74,083.55 in 2011
- Purchasing clerk: $16.81 per hour in 2012, up from $16.52 per hour in 2011
- Administrative assistant: $38,799.67 in 2012, up from $36,396.04 in 2011 — an increase of 7 percent
