A new apartment community on the city’s West Side has begun leasing units.
Following the opening of Bridge Street Market, Rockford Property Management has started leasing units for The Hendrik, the 116-unit apartment community at 625 Bridge St. NW above the market.
“We’re confident that residents will enjoy the vibrancy and energy The Hendrik will bring to the city and look forward to opening our doors later this year,” said Monica Steimle-App, VP of property management at Grand Rapids-based Rockford Construction.
The Hendrik, which was named in honor of Meijer founder Hendrik Meijer, will welcome residents in mid-November.
The 125,808-square-foot community features a mix of studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, ranging in size from 355 to 1,429 square feet, with rents starting at $750 a month.
Several units also include balconies with views of the West Side and downtown Grand Rapids.
Other amenities include a rooftop patio, clubroom, fitness center, connected on-site parking and direct connection to Bridge Street Market.
“The opening of The Hendrik is the culmination of years of thoughtful planning, design and development,” said Mike Mraz, managing partner of real estate development, Rockford Construction. “The result is a community that will provide high-quality living at the epicenter of all the activity taking place on the West Side. This project will be a major catalyst for additional work in this exciting neighborhood.”
Residents will also have access to Rock Perks, a new program that provides special discounts and offers at businesses throughout Grand Rapids. The program is exclusive to residents of Rockford Property Management.
Tours of the model units are now available by appointment.
Both The Hendrik and Bridge Street Market are components of a larger mixed-use development. Other components are class A office space — with space dedicated to the West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology — a 64-unit affordable housing complex by the Inner City Christian Federation and an attached three-story parking deck.
