A maker of footwear and apparel is hosting a sale on Saturday that will benefit an anti-poverty nonprofit.

Wolverine Worldwide is hosting its ninth-annual United Way Super Mega Warehouse Sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the warehouse adjacent to the company’s corporate offices, at 9300 Courtland Dr. NE in Rockford.

As in years past, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Grand Rapids-based Heart of West Michigan United Way.

“At Wolverine, we place a high priority on giving back to the communities where we live and work,” said Dani Zizak, VP of corporate communications and social responsibility, Wolverine Worldwide. “Our partnership with the Heart of West Michigan United Way is just one way we do that.

“All proceeds from the sale go directly toward helping the United Way reduce poverty and make a meaningful impact in our area. At the same time, the sale allows families to get some really great prices on footwear just in time for the start of the school.”

Attendees of the event can expect to find more than 15,000 pairs of shoes and apparel across all 10 of the company’s brands, including Merrell, Sperry, Keds, Saucony, Stride Rite, Bates, Hush Puppies, Cat Footwear, Wolverine and HYTEST.

Discounts start at 70 percent off the suggested retail price.
