Wolverine Worldwide soon will host a warehouse sale of footwear and apparel to benefit a local nonprofit.

The Rockford-based manufacturer said it will host its 10th-annual United Way Super Mega Warehouse Sale from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Aug. 24, in the warehouse adjacent to the company’s corporate headquarters, 9300 Courtland Dr. NE in Rockford.

All net proceeds will go to the Heart of West Michigan United Way’s Community Grant Fund, which underwrites the cost of food, housing, youth education, job training services and more.

“Wolverine is proud to once again host this event that makes a meaningful impact,” said Dani Zizak, vice president of corporate communications and social responsibility, Wolverine.

“Throughout our history, Wolverine has been an active supporter of West Michigan, and partnering once again with the Heart of West Michigan United Way is a great way for us to support those in need in our community.”

The event raises “hundreds of thousands of dollars” each year for the United Way, according to Wolverine.

Children at Fulton Manor Emergency Family Shelter recently decorated pairs of Keds shoes as part of Wolverine Worldwide’s United Way Super Mega Warehouse Sale. All proceeds from these shoes sold at the sale will go to Fulton Manor, which provides shelter and supportive services for homeless local families.

Consumers can expect to find at the sale Wolverine Worldwide footwear and apparel in various sizes and styles with discounts up to 70% off the suggested retail price.

Available brands will include Merrell, Sperry, Keds, Saucony, Stride Rite, Bates, Hush Puppies, Cat Footwear, Wolverine and HYTEST.
