Lighthouse, an Alera Group company and Grand Rapids-operated insurance firm, promoted Ray Sohr to vice president of property and casualty.

Sohr brings 13 years of insurance and managerial experience to his new position. He has served the entirety of his insurance career with Lighthouse and most recently held the position of director of personal insurance. With this promotion, Sohr will be responsible for achieving desired growth and financial metrics by implementing strategic initiatives that enhance employee and client experiences. He also will lead the successful onboarding and integration of Lighthouse’s new affiliate agencies as the firm continues strategic mergers and acquisitions activity.

“I am equally honored and eager to serve in this capacity with Lighthouse,” Sohr said. “We have an incredible team between the personal and commercial departments here at Lighthouse, and I look forward to growing our cross-departmental synergies and building upon the outstanding service we provide our P&C clients.”

Sarah Hudson, VP of operations at Lighthouse, said, “we are thrilled for Ray to pioneer this position at Lighthouse. The success of the personal and commercial departments has been exponential; we needed a trusted leader to harness the momentum and take us to the next level. I am confident that under Ray’s leadership we will be able to leverage strategy, talent, carrier partnerships and best practices from each department to create an enhanced client experience across our entire P&C practice.”
