ABC Receives Renewal Of Excellence

GRAND RAPIDS — The Western Michigan Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has received renewal of the chapter’s accreditation for Excellence in Association Management from the ABC national office.

This recognition is based on ABC’s association management accreditation process. The ABC Western Michigan Chapter was first certified in 1995 and this renewal will last through 2005.

“We congratulate the Western Michigan Chapter of ABC for receiving renewal of the chapter’s Excellence in Association Management Accreditation. This indicates that the ABC-WMC continues to achieve the highest standards in professional association leadership,” said Kirk Pickerel, ABC president and CEO.

“To achieve this accreditation an ABC chapter must demonstrate excellence in managing the business and finances of the chapter, in offering outstanding programs and services to members and in creating an active and involved membership. The ABC-WMC continues to demonstrate outstanding leadership in each of these areas.”

The ABC Excellence in Association Management Accreditation program is managed by ABC’s national office. To receive accreditation, chapters must conduct and submit an exhaustive review of chapter and financial management practices, leadership development initiatives and chapter programs and services.

This program was developed by ABC’s national office to assist chapters in moving to the highest level of member service and professionalism. To date, 65 of ABC’s 80 chapters nationwide have received Excellence in Association Management Accreditation.

“This Excellence in Association Management Accreditation reflects the high quality of service that the ABC Western Michigan Chapter continues to provide to members,” said Pickerel, “and the chapter’s determination to continue to strive for excellence in growth, retention and service.
