Kathe Curtis and Annie Konieczny will head the staff of Daniel’s as store manager and women’s buyer and manager and buyer of men’s collection, respectively.
When it premieres in September, Daniel’s, slated to anchor the new Terrazzo shopping center on East Paris, will offer 15,000 square feet of unique and contemporary clothing collections for men and women. The store will take a lifestyle approach to apparel and accessories, featuring collections found nowhere else in the area.
“Kathe and Anne bring tremendous vision and energy to their new positions at Daniel’s and I am pleased that they will lead our management team,” said Dan Hurwitz, president of Daniel’s. “They will set the tone for the store — from the designer collections that we carry to the displays that will showcase our unique and contemporary fashions.”
In their new roles, Curtis and Konieczny will be responsible for buying, staffing, store management and customer satisfaction. Curtis will serve as the buyer for Daniel’s women’s apparel and accessories, while Konieczny will serve as the buyer for menswear.
“Between them, Kathe and Anne have an exceptional wealth of retail experience — virtually all of it in West Michigan,” said Hurwitz. “They know our customer base intimately and will be superb in selecting the clothing and accessories that will set Daniel’s apart as the fashion destination in West Michigan. Under their leadership, the store will set new standards for customer satisfaction.”
Curtis currently serves as manager of women’s sportswear at Rogers Department Store and has previously held a variety of positions at local retailers including Leigh’s and Ann Taylor.
“I feel very fortunate to be part of the excitement that the Hurwitz family is bringing to our area,” said Curtis. “It’s wonderful to work with a great team of people who share the same philosophy in building customer relationships and providing a unique shopping experience, and who have such a solid reputation in community involvement.”
Konieczny was previously the co-founder and a principal of A.K. Rikk’s Menswear and during her 14-year tenure she was responsible for all aspects of store operations, merchandising and buying and developing a large client following.
“Daniel’s will offer men the most current ideas for dressing in a very comfortable and accessible environment that showcases our collections. We’re aiming for a distinctive ‘wow’ factor visually — and for that same ‘wow’ when it comes to exceptional customer service.”
