Free Speech Meeting Set

    GRAND RAPIDS — Free speech will be the topic of discussion at Tuesday morning’s West Michigan Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America meeting, to be held at Grand Valley State University’s Eberhard Center.

    Commercial free speech, intellectual property and the professional communicator will be the topics of discussion at the September program, for which registration and networking begins at 7:30 a.m. with the panel discussion starting at 8:15 a.m.

    A panel of attorneys including Ed Bardelli of Warner, Norcross and Judd, Kim Mitchell of Alticor and Marty Brown of Foremost Insurance will discuss the legal issues and complexities surrounding commercial free speech.

    Bardelli was part of the legal team for Warner Norcross that worked on the recent Taco Bell Chihuahua case while Mitchell and Brown are both corporate attorneys who have worked on commercial free speech issues relating to public relations and advertising.
