Garland Resort sold to New Frontiers

LEWISTON — Garland Resort, located in Lewiston, has announced the sale of the resort assets to New Frontiers Capital LLC. New Frontiers Capital is based in Wheeling, Ill., and has interests around the country, including part ownership of the Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa and Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark at Boyne Mountain Resort.

New Frontiers Capital will unveil plans for improvements in the near future, but the essence of Garland Resort will remain intact.

Ron Otto, whose family has owned Garland for over 50 years, said in a news release: “While this is a bittersweet time for our family, we couldn’t be happier with the new owners and the plans they have for the property. New Frontiers Capital has the interest of guests, members and employees at the forefront. “

Randy Dzierzawski, president of New Frontiers Capital, said he sees great potential in the acquisition of Garland Resort.

“Garland’s 3,000 acres is a special piece of property and unique resort. The Garland lodge is the largest log cabin east of the Mississippi River. With four championship golf courses and all of its outdoor amenities, Garland is truly a one-of-a-kind destination for members and guests.”

“I am very excited and proud to be the new owner of Garland Resort,” said Gerald Forsythe, chairman of New Frontiers Capital. “The Otto family has created a very special place, and we are going to continue that legacy and improve upon it. Garland is a hidden gem, and this fantastic Midwestern resort will provide great experiences and memories for many years to come.”
