ZEELAND — Gentex Corp. will supply a three-mirror system for the new Hyundai Grandeur luxury sedan. Auto-dimming mirrors darken automatically to eliminate glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear for improved nighttime driving.
Hyundai Kia will sell Grandeur models in Korea that also will have the optional rear camera display mirror from Gentex. A video camera mounted at the rear of the vehicle provides a view directly behind the vehicle while backing up, with the image appearing on a 3.5-inch diagonal LCD display that appears automatically on the mirror when the camera is activated.
The North American version of the Grandeur, called the Azera, will offer an interior auto-dimming mirror with a universal garage door opener and a compass display on the mirror, when activated.
