ZEELAND — Gentex Corp., the locally-based manufacturer of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors and commercial fire protection products, has appointed Robert Vance vice president of Asian Business Development.
Vance brings sales experience and knowledge of the Asian automotive market to a position responsible for the support and development of Gentex’s business with Asian automakers.
Prior to joining Gentex, Vance was employed for more than 10 years by Johnson Controls Inc. in Holland. There, he worked in a number of areas, holding positions in finance, program management, sales and business management. Most recently, he was the vice president responsible for global sales for the Honda Motor Co. account.
A native of Pennsylvania, Vance has lived in several parts of the United States, Japan, and England. He first came to West Michigan as an undergraduate student at HopeCollege, where he received a degree in Business Administration and Foreign Languages. Vance is conversant in Japanese, German and Spanish. He attended graduate school at MeijiGaukuinUniversity in Japan
Currently, he resides in Grand Haven.
