Grubb And Ellis Honors Its Rookie Of The Year


    GRAND RAPIDS — Carrie Masse, of Grubb & Ellis/Paramount, has been named “Rookie of the Year” by the National Office Specialty Council of the Grubb & Ellis Company.

    This is the first time that an advisor from an affiliate office, rather than one of the company’s corporate-owned office, has won this award.

    This firm presents the honor every year to the the real estate advisor whom it feels demonstrates the characteristics of the ideal Grubb & Ellis professional.

    The company chose Masse from the entire Grubb & Ellis Company and its affiliates, which are comprised of nearly 8,000 people in 200 offices in 27 countries, serving 90 markets.

    She was recognized in the firm’s 3-day Circle of Excellence celebration in March in Whistler, BC.

    The company says the award moves her into the national rookie of the year Award contention, also be announced in Whistler.

    That winner is to be chosen from this year’s four specialty (industrial, investment, office and retail) award winners.

    Bill Bowling, Chairman of Grubb & Ellis/Paramount, who made the nomination said “Carrie joined our office in May 1999, with no prior real estate experience. She has a passion for learning, pushes herself to excel, represents our company with the utmost in professionalism, and always puts the client first.

    In a statement, he added. “We have so much confidence in her, that she is mentoring our newest office advisor and is co-leader of our Investment Group.

    “Carrie is truly a great talent and has all my respect and admiration,” said Clint Miller, executive vice president and managing director of Grubb & Ellis Minneapolis and Grubb & Ellis’ Chairman of the Office Specialty Council.

    “I really enjoyed meeting Carrie and reviewing her career. I wish her all of my best and hopefully I will have a chance to work with her on behalf of her clients in the future.”

    The Grubb & Ellis criteria for rookie of the year nominations include a focus on client service, high professional standards, the respect of fellow team members, a contributing member of the team, and income production.

    To meet eligibility requirements, the nominated individual must have tenure of no more than one complete calendar year, participate regularly in real estate professional organizations and in civic or community organizations.

    Masse also won the 2000 Top Salesperson of the Year Award presented annually by Grubb & Ellis/Paramount.

    She is a member of the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors, and serves on the Association’s Commercial/Industrial Board and frequently supports local Economic Club functions.
