Haworth Announces Promotion

HOLLAND — Pamela Wright Armstrong will succeed Nancy Teutsch as Haworth Inc.’s vice president of global human resources on April 1. Teutsch, who has served the company in that role for nearly nine years, has announced that she will retire in March.

“I am pleased for Nancy as she enters this new chapter in her life,” said Franco Bianchi, president and CEO, in a press release. “And I am also excited to welcome Pam to her new position.

“I have full confidence in Pam and the new energy she will bring to the role, but we will miss the steady leadership Nancy brought to our organization. I am pleased that Nancy will continue to lead some strategic projects here at Haworth on a part-time basis.”

Bianchi said the leadership changes have been in the planning stages for many months, and are being announced nearly two months in advance to allow for adequate transition time in the human resources and sales organizations.

Prior to joining Haworth in 1997, Teutsch was a human resources executive at Ameritech, the telecommunications company acquired by the former SBC.

“She has been a strong advocate for our members around the world, and has immeasurably advanced the culture of our organization,” Franco said. “Her talents, energy and positive attitude are appreciated throughout Haworth.”

Armstrong, currently Haworth’s vice president of business development, joined the company in 1995 as a market manager in the Washington, D.C., area, and has steadily taken on more responsibilities in the organization — including serving as area sales manager in Washington, D.C., a regional director for the Southeast sales area, and as a regional vice president. She assumed her current position November 2004.

Prior to joining Haworth, she served as a sales executive with a Knoll dealership in Washington, D.C., worked in an independent sales representative firm in upstate New York, and spent seven years designing corporate offices in New York City.
