Minnesota Firm Acquires CPR

GRAND RAPIDS — Computer Products and Resources Inc., commonly known as CPR Inc., has been sold to Plymouth, Minn.-based Corporate Technologies LLC for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition is the latest of several mergers within the West Michigan technology community with out-of-area firms. Unlike those acquisitions, which focused on attaining new capital for growth by merging with larger firms, the CPR merger is designed as an exit strategy for 66-year-old founder Jerry Engle. He will remain with the company for at least 18 months to assist in the transition.

CPR will retain its name and all its employees. In the coming months, Corporate Technologies stated that it intends to expand its new West Michigan presence by 15 employees.
