GRAND RAPIDS — With a new hotel already open here and one soon to be, Illinois-based Hospitality Specialists Inc. is not the only hotel group bullish on Grand Rapids.

Texas-based Accor North America has opened a 60-room Motel 6 at 7625 Caterpillar Court in what was formerly AmeriHost Inn. The franchised property is owned and operated by BHG Grand Rapids LLC.

Accor North America is one of the nation’s largest owners/operators of economy lodging. There are more than 850 Motel 6 locations in the United States and Canada. Standard amenities typically include swimming pool, free local phone calls, free morning coffee, data ports and a popular cable television channel lineup including HBO, ESPN and CNN.
