GRAND RAPIDS — North Star Public Relations has a newly configured team and new ownership structure.
The company has redeemed the remaining 50 percent interest in the company from former co-owner and partner Rachel Neva. Dan Calabrese who founded the company with Neva in 1999, will serve as president and CEO.
As part of the new structure, former executive assistant Darcey Bazan has been promoted to vice president for administration.
The company has also added account strategist Kelly Smallegan, most recently an intern in the marketing department of Zondervan Publishing House.
Noel Black also joins the company, serving in the role of senior counselor. Black was previously director of public affairs for Amway Corporation, and has assisted North Star on a consulting basis periodically since the company was established.
“We are very grateful to Rachel Neva for the role she played in establishing North Star Public Relations,” said Calabrese.
“I am sure she will do well in all her future endeavors. We wish her the very best. We are also very excited about our new team and our future.”
