Radisson Hotel Is Purchased

GRAND RAPIDS — The Anne Street Radisson Hotel has a former senator and a local businessman in the family now.

Steil Sullivan Operations LLC, recently created by former State Senator Glenn Steil and Grand Rapids businessman Bob Sullivan, has acquired the hotel, which will continue its Radisson affiliation. The change in ownership however, will bring with it a new name, Radisson Riverfront, as well as a $3.5 million renovation.

Sullivan, apart from the new joint venture, owns two other hotels, the Howard Johnson Plaza on 28th Street and the Days Inn Downtown.

“I have always been proud to provide a quality hotel service at an affordable price for visitors to Grand Rapids,” said Sullivan. “I look forward to expanding and improving the options available in our city.”

Steil added that he is excited by the opportunity to improve upon the lodging opportunities for the city’s visitors.

“With the completion of the new convention center and the increased exposure it will bring Grand Rapids, I want every visitor leaving wishing they could stay longer,” said Steil. “That is the kind of hotel we will run.”
